In 2002, a group of local sportsmen and sportswomen joined together to form a chapter of Waterfowl U.S.A., the Southwestern Lake Erie Chapter (S.W.L.E.C.). Waterfowl U.S.A. is a national non-profit organization that is committed to local habitat issues. Therefore, the 70% of the money raised from SWLEC events stays in the local area for habitat projects. We are committed to preserving America’s wetlands and raising local bucks for local ducks. In Michigan, over 60% of the ducks harvested are raised locally in the Great Lakes Region, which is where the SWLEC Chapter focuses its efforts.
